I have already took out the comb out of the catalytic converter because it was old and rusted. Installed it back in so now its just like a straight pipe, so if its the converter it would still accelerate. Although the truck starts up fine, when I shift to drive, It would not drive or reverse. What could be the problem? I did check trans fluid before starting the truck (truck has been sitting for 4 months) and saw some particles in the fluid.

No movement in any gear could be transmission pump failure, to check for pump failure, check fluid level with the engine off, then start the engine and recheck fluid level. If level does not go down when engine is running, the pump is broken.
The other thing to would be a snapped output shaft. Try to wiggle driveshaft - if more than 0.020" play, that's the sign of rebuilding the transmission.
