96 gmc jimmy at idle hit gas hard idle drops

just like title says if i press the gas pedal down hard at idle, the rpms drop and seems like it boggs down wants to die

Yeah. that's going to be hard to figure out without a code or being in limp mode. I remember a couple of years ago my Mercedes slk had a problem close to what you have, it turned out to be a dirty MAF.

Try mass air flow sensor or cleaning egr valve.

Possible vacuum leak. My 96 did that when i had a leaky brake booster.
