'97 GMC Savana - How to restore brake pedal position?

I removed the master cylinder to repair the washer bottle and , not thinking, depressed the brake pedal. Now I cannot get the pedal to return to normal position. It is close to the floor and will not move back. Any ideas as to what I need to do to get things back to normal? Spring and star washer came out out the boost unit. Some fluid leaked.

Sounds like you broke something. Not sure why you'd have to take your brake master cylinder out for the washer bottle, but when you take hydraulics apart, you have to bleed the system when you get it back together. Almost sounds like you did break other things when you took it apart too. Not good, not good at all.
