98 GMC Rides Rough

hello all, I bought a 98 GMC Z/71 K 1500 about 6 months ago. Was wondering why when i hit a small bump / hole it bottom s out. It jars U something bad. Is there anything I can do to fix this (shocks or what. It rides great, no bounce at all.

Some things that can cause this

• Large oversize tires
• Low profile tires, narrow sidewalls with wide tread, new fad
• Over-inflated tires
• Stiffer than oem shocks, i.e. off-road high pressure gas shocks like Rancho etc
• modified suspension - lift etc
• type of tires, load range E for heavy loads etc
