98 Jimmy tranny issue

I've had this 98 Jimmy for about a month. the tranny shifts some what hard from 1 to 2 and slightly hard from 2-3. It only happens when the engine is hot (about 20 mins or so drive time) Throwing codes for tranny shift issue. I'm thinking solenoids.

The guy i got it from said he got the codes, drained and R2'd filter and the ck eng light went out....

Your throttle position sensor going bad or your EPC valve going bad in your transmission. Start with the simple and check your TPS first, Check for smooth and linear electrical response over the entire range of motion. If not, replace it.

TPS ohm bad...R2'd...didnt fix it. what is an EPC valve? I'm jet engine mech so i can do most of the mechanical work. i can't find that valve any where.

i cant find that part on any parts site...including rock auto. is there a different name for it?

You might have electronic shift control modules in the pan area of your tranny , When these modules get bad you can sometimes get hard shifts or no shift problems . You can drop trans pan to replace these.
