98 Z-71 Shifting

hello folks. I have a 98 Gmc z-71 and also a 95 GMC 1500 2WD--What i have is on the 98 when i shift from Park to R-or--drive the shift handle seems hard to move.. Now my 95 shift handle is just fine..Just need to know if this is common on the 98 or what....

Not common on any years for the Sierra, Inspect the linkage from your steering to your transmission and lubricate all moving parts and replace any worn parts that look questionable that is causing your linkages not to move freely.
