Spent yesterday removing the dash to get at the heat control module in order to repair the floor heat vent. Got that done, put everything back together, and have one wiring clip left unconnected. It appears to be the starter circuit, as everything else works but no activation of the starter solenoid. I have searched the net and this forum for any clues where the heck this connector goes, and can't find its mate under the dash. Wiring diagrams lead me to believe the two purple, one purple/white, one brown/white are the start circuit.

I gotta get this thing started and out the door, so I am a little desperate here. Any savvy wiring gurus online?

Here's a couple of photos.

Additonal problems with my truck

I need to add some more information to my first post. I found the posts on the forum about the security passlock reset might fix a no-start situation. I tried it with no luck. On the last cycle of key on/key off, the ignition switch locked up and now I can't remove the key from the switch. I only have the check engine light and seatbelt light showing (when I could turn the key in the switch).

I guess now I need to replace the ignition switch to see if that was the problem all along. If anyone on the forum has other ideas, I am more than eager to hear them.

more info - still need help

In case anyone can use this info to provide some help, I'd sure appreciate it.

The key is actually in the ACC position, unable to move to any other position or remove from the barrel. The shifter is stuck in park. I have brake lights, headlights, horn and clock/radio, but nothing else. The fuses are all good, and the brake pedal switch and brake/transmission shift interlock both function with 12V juice.

Because the steering wheel is locked at about 45 degrees, I can't access any of the fasteners on the back side. It looks like my first and only option right now is to get the ignition lock barrel removed, but does anyone know if this will then release the steering wheel lock, or is that a whole different job?

ANY help is welcome.

Solution found

It looks like I can't edit or delete any of my own messages, so in order to keep this thread from ending in mystery, I thought I'd post the solution to my problem. It was the key stuck in the ignition at the ACC position. Some spray lubricant and a hard pull on a plumber's wrench popped the key barrel loose, and fortunately for me, no damage was done. The barrel turns, the key comes out in the OFF position, the truck starts, all is good. I still don't know what that purple wire circuit is for, but it might be an accessory I never had installed at the factory.

Cheers,

Tim C.
