Hello everyone, i have here a 1978 GMC Sierra 3spd on the floor with the 350 cu in (5.7 L) V8 in it. It seems to me that it keeps overheating, i was wondering what your opinion on this was. Honestly i think i need to do a rebuild on it, and change all fluids in it. I just bought it this past weekend. Also another question is what engine coolant do you recommend for the truck, and what weight oil do you recommend, and what type oil filter? Please and thank you very much

I have no idea how to diagnose a mechanical problem through the Web. I don't think you could either. Try bringing you car to a mechanic. Such problems require observation, test equipment and tools and experience from someone who does this for a living and would best be able to assist you!

you may have to take it to the shop. to see what is causing it to overheat. and eliminate all the quest work. on all the other questions. just go with what is recommended
