2000 z71 sle. 5.3 and 4 ugly looking yellow shocks. Not sure what they are as i just picked up this beautiful 2000 sierra from a dealership. mint conditon inside out, and Engine looks like new. How they clean them up i do not know unless there is a new motor in it. hoses, and most everything looks like new.

I want to know what is the cheapest way for a 6 inch lift. Right now the rig has 2 leafs and the bottom plate on each side. 16 265's. on the tires.

I'm not wanting to go much wider as I want to keep my mileage as close as normal as possible but I also would like to have it lifted 6" or so. Would adding an extra leaf to each side be a good thing to dp? or should I be talking a complete lift kit with springs ect. i just don't want to call up a shop and have them try to sell me stuff i don't need. If i don't know what i'm talking about, they will try to pick up on it and make me spend more but then maybe they could be honest and steer me right. anyone wanna tell me how much this might cost? I have 1k to play with and want some $$ left over

Sorry to tell you this. But for $1,000 you are not even close to getting a 6" lift. There is alot more to lifting a truck than slapping on leaf springs. Alot of things come into play. Adapters, shocks, springs, coils, brake lines, new drive shafts. and that is just off the top of my head. Yes, even 4" lifts will require all this to be done. You would be lucky to be able to get a 4" lift for $3,500 - $4,000. That's not even including wheels and tires.(keeping the stock wheels and tires on a lifted truck would look weird) I would suggest you save the money, and learn everything you can about lifts, before attempting it. Although, there are very nice lift kits out there, that will help with the basic hardware. Good luck to you, I hope this helped in someway.
