We've had our Acadia Denali for almost a year. We had problems with the Nav system right away. It gave bad directions, went the wrong way and couldn't find things. We've taken it in to the dealer twice and they say the disk is the current disk and there is nothing they can do. Meanwhile, it tells us to take exits that don't exist, etc. I put my old TomTom up next to it and had no problems. Hey, GM, how does a $60 nav system work better than your $3000 system. Very frustrating, wish I had never bought the vehicle.

Anybody else having similar problems?

mlknut, have you ever spoken with our Customer Assistance team in regards to the issues you're having with your navigation? If not I would suggest getting in contact with them as soon as possible. If you need help reaching them let me know.

We have some issues with the NAV also, you can not put in East, West directions so when we put in the street it does not come up with the full name like East Hamdpen Place, it just comes up with Hamdpen, so we are not sure this is correct becuase where we live their is a Hampden Place, Hampden Ave, Hampden Dr and Hampden Cir. So we went back to our old Garmin. So much for their Nav system.

Hornetfixer,
I would like to apologize for the issues that you have experienced with your Navigation. Have you had your dealer look into this for you? If you have not I would suggest that you have them take a look at this issue for you. I would also like you to keep me posted on the progress with this. If you have any other questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime.
Thank you,

Navigation accuracy

I just picked up a new 2014 Acdia Denali and the GPS sytem concerns me. I love the screen and features, but when I put in our vacation home which is 90 minutes away, it states it is 150 minutes away. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix? I want reliable estiamtes. The course it chooses is right.

Hello jima,

Congratulations on your new vehicle! I am sorry to hear that it seems that the Navigation system is not calculating the time correctly. Have you brought this up to your dealership’s service department? Does this only happen when you are setting the destination for your vacation home, or have you tried it with other destinations as well? If you would you like any assistance in setting up an appointment with a dealership, please feel free to reach out to me via private message. Thank you very much for your time.

Gps

Thanks for your reply, but I do not need help setting up an appointment. If I can find the dealership to buy a car, I can certainly set up an appointment on my own.

We need tech assistance to look at these GPS issues. The dealership has already replaced my unit once, as it was shutting off by itself al the time. Both the original unit and the new one mis-calculate time of arrival by a wide margin of error (50%). Now the second unit is shutting on and off by itself as well.

I have a dealer appointment tomorrow, but we need tech support to look at these issues.

Thanks

The dealership has confirmed that all GPS's in that model calculate the same, albeit, wrong. Thus the problem is in the manufacturing of the units.

I have compared the time of arrival to three handheld and two installed units in other brand cars, and all are very close except the GMC. This is too expensive of a GPS to be that off in its' calculations.

As for the shutting on and off problem, they have yet to find. We need GMC to look into this issue for all owners. Has anyone else noticed the time of arrival mis-calculation?
