Aftermarket stereo 1996 Sonoma

Have been trying since Christmas to install a new cd player into my 1996 Sonoma. I've read tons of posts, but still can't figure out how to get the front dashboard panel off. It seems like the steering column needs to be dropped. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks...Vic

i would defiantly drop the sterring column so you dont damage or scratch the plastic. fairly easy to do only 2 nuts under the dash.
