The EXACT same thing happened on my '08 I had 6 months ago. 99% sure its going to be a little control module under the drivers seat that has built up corrosion. Bad news is this little part runs close to $500. My truck would keep calling OnStar every time I jumped in and they would get a signal I had been in an accident. I usually do all the work on my truck to save shop costs but messing around near the steering wheel with something to do with an airbag didnt seem like a good idea to me. I decided to keep my head on my shoulders and just let the dealer deal with it. Not a nice bill in the end though.
If you decide to get this checked out with your dealership, please let us know as we're available to work with you through that process. We can be reached here on the forum via direct message (please include your name, contact information, and the last 8 digits of your VIN).

This is not even a 5 year old vehicle And if the connections to the module. Under the seat come corroded WHAT KIND OF WORKMANSHIP IS THAT
You just stirred up the bull that's running around circles in the mall
I will be taking this straight to my local news agency
And guess what you all will hear about this article
It's a bullshit no classy way to go about making business yourself
Just found out there was a recall for this. My sensing and diagnostic module needed to be replaced. I was not told by the dealer I took the truck to that there was a recall for this issue. I have now sold the truck and it shows on the system this was repaired under warranty even though I received a nice $600 bill. Gotta love GM dealers who dont give a shit about the little guy.
ihave the same thing showing up on my 2008 Sierra. I took it to the dealer and they told me that the left front impact sensor had to be replaced. the part would cost me $250 and one hour labor to install. A little pricey and if it was not the impact sensor that it would cost me about 5-6 hundred.
