Hey guys,

new to this forum but just wanted to get your opinions on a few things.

So I bought my truck used in June. 23000km. I have had nothing but trouble ever since. I truly do believe I'm going to have this thing sold and move to another company before Christmas.

So here's a list of issues that I have had to go to the dealership for since June.

27700km
-Clunk in drive line, Dealership pushed it off as normal operation.
-Brakes squealing like crazy, was told its not covered because of not having them serviced at 20000km. (didn't even own the truck) Glad to know GM's brakes are junk and dont last.
-Pop under drivers side floor. (Still not fixed to this date) I know its the body mounts, been to the dealer 4 times.. they're excuse it not being able to duplicate it.. funny since I hear it when I drive away.

28500km
-Took the truck for an oil change, front diff was checked and was milky. Had a leak in the diff.
-Clunk still in drive line, yoke needed to be greased. Fixed it.. but seems to be coming back now. GM has to learn that grease isn't always the fix.

31400km
-Leafs creaking and slapping like crazy. Dealership put grease on them.
-Clunk is back in drive line. Not as bad.

32985km
-Tried to have pop under drivers side looked at again. 3 insulators were installed to all driver side body mounts.. did NOT fix issue.. got worse actually
-Brake lights flickering as releasing brake pedal slowing. Had short in brake booster. Took a week to get it to dealership. after it was installed i went to get my truck, the engine light was on and there was a hiss coming from the new booster. Booster has a leak in a vacuum hose (thanks for checking before i picked up the truck) another boosted was ordered, another week without the truck.
-Rattle at windshield area, double sided take added to mouldings. apparently having a bud deflector makes stuff jiggle around on the truck.. good quality. atleast it was covered under warranty.
-Leafs slapping again!, added some Rust Check (Green can) spray... been good ever since.. again.. grease doesn't fix everything GM!

34100km
-Moan/vibration in exhaust. Flex pipe added. All good now.
-Thought the brake lights were starting to flicker again, turns out if you release the pedal quick but stop while still where the brake lights should be on, they will flicker off and back on... weird but tried out 3 different trucks and they all do it.. terrible design.
-Tried again for the pop... same excuse.. going back next week. O and now if i put my truck just to the ON position but not running, it tells me my battery is low within only 5 minutes.
-Clunk in drive line is back.

Anyone else have as much bad luck?? I can't believe this truck.

Other's are having your luck.

latreille89,

You're not too picky.

You asked if others are having your luck.

My seven month old 2011 GMC Sierra 5.3 liter 6 speed has had numerous issues since new.

It clunks, bangs, slams, slips and pulls right. When the Acitve Fuel Management moves from 4 to 8 cylinders it lags, growls then picks up the slack in the drivetrain and "SLAM"!

Truck pulls right after two alignments and one tire rotation/balance at my expense shortly after purchase!

The A/C cycles on and off.

The headliner rattles when the temp is below 50* F.

Trucks' been in and out of different Dealers since new.

GM is no help. Their customer service people are insulting.

Others are having your luck. Check ZEKE456's thread on this site.

Also, check Edmunds GMC Forum.

latreille89, Sorry to hear about all these issues. I would suggest getting in contact with your nearest GM Customer Care center to see what we can do for you. CEB66, I'd like to setup a case for you with our Customer Assistance team to see what we can do. If you've already had a case could you message me your case number so I can look it over and see what I can do for you? Thank you!
