hey guys, first post on here, basics are I have a great, old, beater 1998 Sonoma 4 banger, 5 speed, great truck -- love it. Some a**hole tried to steal it and jimmied the ignition all up, so, went to the pull-a-part and got a new ignition lock and key, --- so now I have a passkey issue...ughhhh
I took a lock cyl from a 96, and it would not complete the relearn, is that bcs it is from a 96? Can I get a lock cyl from a newer truck? It would have to be one without a chip key, right?
ok -- can I just disable it? I dont care about any lights being on, I know how the system works, it cuts power to the injectors, can I just splice a power wire to the injector power wire in the main harness and be done with it? That is what Id like to do.
oh and PS, the 3 wires going to my passkey harness are
yellow, orange with a black stripe, and red with a white stripe
