I recently sold my 2011 Canyon crew cab, SLT, and ordered a 2015 Canyon CC, SLT , copper red metallic with nav, Bose and just about every option I could stuff within. Now after what seems like years but actually weeks my vehicle should arrive by train today or tomorrow. My previous Canyon was super easy to drive even though equipped with Z71 suspension and routinely gave 21-23 mpg. I have not seen other posts about the new Canyon but if there is a interest I will post my evaluation of the truck after traveling a few miles. Unfortunately I am computer stupid so posting photos may be a bit of a challenge and there are no teens on my street to give me directions :) if others have the second generation Canyon I should enjoy their responses.

Just picked up a 2015 on Saturday. Its the SLE with Remote Start and the upgraded Entertainment package, in Cardinal Red.
It is 'bare' at the moment but I ordered a bunch of goodies to add to it. I don't have pictures just yet but I'll post a few when I do.
I have to say this is one of the best trucks I've driven and the 25 mpg Highway is dead on, at least for me.

Good Luck with your new Canyon!

JVC2530, Thanks for the response, I'll bet you are having reason to smile right now with your new truck. None of the dealers in Spokane have had any stock to show potential customers as they sell the same day as arrival. I did get to sit in a Chevy (sold) at a local auto show a few weeks back. I should see mine tomorrow as the rail car is here and to be unloaded and the Pick Up transported two miles to my dealer. I am sure that I will do my best to haunt the dealership until it is detailed, steps and mud flaps installed and a tank of gas and hearty handshake given. I will get a chance to check gas mileage on a trip to Texas in a month or so as I visit my buddy for a month or more and hunt wild Texas Hogs on his many properties. Hope you have nothing but good times in your Canyon, I almost ended up with Cardinal red as the salesman misunderstood Copper Red Metallic for it. Not that I would have minded that much as it is a great color.

Today is the day??? This is the day my Canyon is to emerge from the GNRR car and transported two miles to the dealer. I cannot imagine any further delays on the part of the shipper but then I have little experience with the railroads and there may be surprises on the horizon. The small amount of snow last night should not affect the transportation at all. I intend to take my iPad, coffee cup and Westie to the dealer and camp in the showroom until my vehicle is ready. 2015 SLT, 4x4, nav, cc, short bed, trailer pkg, Bose, leather, V6, engine heater, remote start etc. in this country the engine heater is nice however my last Canyon was never out in the cold at night and the heater was never used, this truck likely will not spend many nights out of the garage as well. Hope my ramblings are of some benefit to others who are waiting for their new vehicle.

Last week may wife and I test drove a new Canyon. It was an SLE short bed with the All Terrain package. It was sold that same day to someone else. Later in the week we decided to order a Canyon in the color and with the packages we want. Now the waiting begins.

Ken, I received my Canyon SLT, CC, Bose, Nav, etc., on Wednesday, have a whopping 41 miles on it now. My truck was ordered Jan 13, built on Feb 10 and sat until 2-19 before being placed on a train and therein begins the ordeal. Remember you can check progress through GM chat and they are quite accommodating to the customer. Anyway the train headed West and eventually to Cheyenne Wy. apparently to pic up a train going NW, sat for about 8 days while I chrewed fingernails. Finally arrived in Spokane Wa. and only two miles to the dealer, arrived Sunday made it to the dealer on Wed. The shipping took almost a month and was by far the most trying time of the order process as my fully functional vehicle sat in a box (railroad car).
End result is the most up to date styling and technological vehicle I have driven, makes my 2011 seem like an antique. I would have survived the order process a great deal better if I had ignored tracking and just waited for the dealer's call to pick up the pick up! Don't fret you will love your Canyon.

Mikey, I contacted GMC with my order number and received a date for when they plan to start production, March 23rd. Hope the Canyon is here when my wife and I get back from a trip we are taking.

Ken 46,
As of this date I have 600 miles and one oil change at 500, I really am happy with the vehicle as it is like night and day from my 2011 SLT. I have not driven it at night as yet but on a dark rainy day I noticed the buttons in the steering wheel light up, great idea if I ever get it out in the dark. Also finally figured out how to bring up more displays on the infocenter and noticed the sky on the navigation display was black puffy clouds while it was raining and bright when sky is blue. Will wonders never cease! Anyway I should have the engine broken in and bugs ( if any) worked out before a 5000 mile trip to Texas and back next month. I am rambling on but it just reflects my satisfaction with this truck....even if they forgot the grage door opener!
Hope you have your truck waiting and it is all you expected....mine truely is more.

Mike, my Canyon is built and is on the way to my dealer. Unfortunately I am visiting my son in California, so it will arrive back in Pennsylvania before me. It will be waiting for me when I get home. Looking forward to picking it up and driving it. I'll need to install an electronic brake controller and will order a tonneau cover for it.

It's great to see updated posts about your experience with the performance of the new Canyon. I think it's still better you get to track the build and delivery date from the day you order it, there are good dealers who really keep you posted. Pics would be great but just reading how satisfied you are with the performance makes me think abt test driving one.

Van, go for it, I ordered my Canyon after study of available information provided by GM as there were no trucks at my dealer ( or any dealer in my area). After ordering I was able to sit in a Colorado briefly at a local auto show and was a bit disappointed with the interior as I had been led to believe it would be richer and with more innovative features than my 2011 Canyon. More looking on the web and comments were made by reviewers that the Canyon was in fact different with regard to the interior. Upon receiving my vehicle (SLT model) there was no disappointment on my part, it made the 2011 somewhat antique both inside and out. I have had my Canyon for about a month now making only short trips about the country and in town but am looking forward to driving to Texas at the end of this month ( not looking forward to the three days it will take me to go 2200 miles) hopefully the truck will keep me from being too fatigued due to it's comfort level. Guess I will have more information at the end of the round trip in June, thinking positively all will go well.

Well, I picked up the new Canyon yesterday. It is a crew cab with a short bed. I have the SLE package, towing package, and opted for the sprayed in bed liner. It is bronze metallic. Only have 43 miles on, but so far I really like it. Took it over some rough road and it did very well. It was really windy, but it stayed quiet in the cab. Next week I'll be taking a short (500 mile round) trip. I'll let you know how things go with that. I need to get accustomed to the electronics as this is the most advanced vehicle I've ever owned.

Well, I have a little over 800 miles on the Canyon so far and am averaging 23.9 mpg. I'm impressed.

Nice!
