I want to slab my car out but im gonna start with the ride height. Anybody know how to lower it while keeping it legal, having a smooth ride, and for a decent price?

Need more information, 4Wd or 2WD and it's only legal as long as there are no parts dragging on the ground. I find a 2.5 drop to the front and 3 to the rear with a good set of wheel of fill in the wheel well will do the trick just right.

I got a 4WD 96 Jimmy with 2 inch drop in the front and 2.5 in the rear, i had it lower but was getting bump steer and was plowing the the driveway in the winter time

look if your jimmy is 4x4 then you need to get new keys for your torsion bars and get 4 inch lowering blocks for the rear. do not get 3 you will not be happy. i lowered mine 3 in the rear and hated it. i have a 2000 4x4 and i lowered it 3 up front and 4 in the back. once you get the new keys you can fine tune it with the adjustment bolt that holds it in place. you will have to get shock for a lowered truck and new bump stops. go to stylin trucks they have the keys, blocks and shocks. you can get the bushings at autozone. send me your email address and i will send you some photos of mine so you will have an idea of how it will look.
