Just picked up a 2013 Acadia Denali about a week ago (traded in an '06 Armada). I must say I enjoy the smoother/quieter ride and comfort.
I was able to successfully pair my Galaxy Nexus to the vehicle. The quality of the phone calls (only had about 5-6) is spotty. I can be heard by the other person, but half the time their voice is difficult to decipher!
I'd never used Pandora before, but thought it sounded like a good option. Having subscribed with Sirius since their inception (4 current subscriptions) I always liked the idea of being commercial free. Pandora gives the added bonus of more specific/tailored music.
The main problem is that I'm only averaging perhaps a 30% success rate in having Pandora actually work. Assuming that I can see a Bluetooth connection has been established (by the indicators on screen), the next trick is opening Pandora. Sometimes the icon is not active, other times it is but won't connect. I often try to launch it through voice commands. Again, most of the time (2/3 or so) when I say PLAY PANDORA it will return something like "XM 4 - correct?" At this point I know it's hopeless. It's not until I restart the vehicle later that I'll have another shot. When it replies "Acquiring Pandora" I at least know I've got a chance - with it successfully opening the application perhaps 60% of the time. Other times it indicates the connection failed or was not able to launch (some similar response).
Is it my phone... is it Pandora... is it the vehicle???
When I turn the radio off (Press the left control knob), it does not really restart the system, as it is on immediately upon pressing the knob again. It was my hope that a radio restart would reset the connection, but obviously the bluetooth connection is outside of the radio itself (as would need to be the case for voice commands I suppose). Thus I have found myself pulling off the road a couple of times to literally restart my vehicle.
The problem is that this issue is periodic... working fine a couple times, then not working the next few. Not sure that taking it to the dealer would have any benefit. Anyone else heard of similar problems?
One other related question... after Pandora is disconnected, or following a vehicle restart where I had previously used Pandora, it often tunes to some random FM station. Is there a way to set up a default station to tune to? I have no use for FM, and don't care to hear some car salesperson (or similar) screaming to me in my car!!
THANKS!
Tom
