I have a 2001 1500 Sierra extended cab 4x4. 5.3L engine 124k miles. The right front brake caliper started to not open back up after normal braking. Got bad enough that it would stop the truck after 3-5 miles. I pulled the caliper and rebuilt it (honed cylinder walls & new seals and dust boots). Reinstalled, same problem. I have now replaced the caliper with a new rebuilt unit from Auto Zone. Same problem. Unit locks up in closed position. I pulled the caliper and checked the pistons to see if they were functioning properly. All OK. Checked the hydraulic line back to the ABS unit. All OK. No ABS lights showing a problem at the dash. Rotor in good shape. It seems to me that that back pressure from braking is not being relieved.Any ideas? This truck has been "Babied" with very little off road use. I'm out of ideas.
