Had a friend tell me my drivers side brake light was out. Went to Auto zone and bought new bulbs and replaced them. Now my brake light only works occasionally when my headlights are on, also my drivers side turn signal now flashes fast like there is a bulb burned out. Question, would a burned out front turn signal bulb cause this problem? When I turn the left turn signal on (drivers side) the bulb in the front appears to also be flashing rapidly. This is on a 1999 GMC Jimmy.

Thanks

Fast flashing turn signals are by design, so that the operator knows that a bulb is burnt out, or not connected

The best method for checking electrical issues is to start out at the load end of the circuit and work your way to the power source.

So I would test the bulb socket first to see if you have power, if not then check at the plug connected to the lamp, if no power, then at the plug under the truck LH side frame rail in front of rear bumper. Then just continue on that way untill you find power, you will then know that your problem is between where you found power and your load.
