As mentioned, sounds like wiring problems and those can be hard to track down. If you have any aftermarket or half-a$$ed trailer wiring then thats the first place I would look. Most trailering wiring added to the truck is rarely done right and that later can present major wiring problems the new owner is left to fight with.

I have a 2006 Sierra and I am having problems with my driver side brake/ tail lights. They both work independently, but when I press my brake pedal the tail light goes off and the brake light will not light. Any ideas?
