Broken Door Latch Cable Driver Side

I have a 1996 GMC Sierra SLT and had someone try to break in awhile back. They damaged the driver side door handle also making it hard to close. I guess by pulling on it. I have searched for the "Door Latch and Cable" because the original one was shot. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for this part? I have tried the internet to the utmost also ebay, rock auto, jcwhitney, auto-zone, advance, car-quest and local junkyards. As you can see I have been relentless in my search. Tired of getting in from the passenger side! If there are any compatible parts please let me know.

I have had the same issue for nearly 6 months now. Finally broke down and bought a whole new parts truck just to get a new door.. (mind you the rest wasn't to shabby either, salvaged a lot from it.)

Do you have a picture of the part? I was out getting firewood when the piece just fell right out of my door. Took the little door filters out and there she was, skinny Z-bent piece of metal. Been entering from the passenger side and leaving my window down on nice days for waaay to long now.

I'll try and find the piece, maybe its the one you need. Not sure how I'd get it to you, but atleast you would then know what it looks like, and maybe its the same thing. Might benefit us both lol.

I got a pic from ebay where I email a guy about the part but wouldn't fit mines. Hopefully this is what you have.
