Hi guys here is my issue......I have an 03 envoy....I had to take the transmission and transfer case out to rebuild the transmission(4l60e). After installing the transmission and transfer case and hooking the wiring harness back up i needed to install a new neutral safety switch as the old one got damaged. As you probably know they come set to the neutral position. So when i hooked the battery back up and turned on ignition and press the brake pedal the shifter will not come our of the park position. if i plug the two plugs in then the indicator in the truck shows neutral but i need to manually move the shifter out of its locked position of park (in order to move the cable to where the neutral position would be) .....any help would be greatly appreciated.
I was thinking of manually moving the shifter linkage on the transmission to neutral then installing the nss then manually moving the linkage to park then hooking up the cable....but i wasn't sure if this would hurt anything?
