I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500, 135,000 miles. There are 3 cigar/power outlets on the dash under the radio. 1 is the actual cigar lighter and the other 2 are power adaptors. The 2 power adaptors are not working.

I've checked all the fuses that I believe to be the ones for the "outlets" both under the hood and on the driver side panel. All fuses seem to be intact and in working order.

I've since pulled the dash off and looked behind the outlets to ensure the connections were secure, to which they are. What i did notice was that the previous owner (perhaps) had taken apart the outlet that acts as the lighter and replaced it with one of the other 2 connections. Which is strange, because the cigar lighter connection is white and will not fit into the other two connections, which are black.

At any rate, I've read online that the fuse for the radio could possibly be the cause of the 2 power outlets not working, since the 2 power outlets seem to be coming through the thread of radio wires. But, if the radio fuse was bad, would'nt that mean the radio itself would not work?

Without taking apart the whole dash and going wire by wire, I'm just trying to get the power outlets to work.

Thank you in advance for the help. - R

Scratch this, found the problem after I took the wires apart further on the back side. The connections to the wires from the power units had come apart.

Thanks though.
