Hi, i have a 96 jimmy with a 4.3 v6. I bought it in june and havent had too much trouble with it until now. Earlier this week, i went out at 6am to start the vehicle. the car would start up, but would stall out aftewr about 2 seconds like it wasnt getting enough fuel to stay running. Then, after school around 4pm, i startwed the jimmy and it started up and ran fine. It did the exact same thing the next day. It seems like it wont run if the temperature outside is below freezing, or 32 degrees. What could this be? it runs fine when its above freezing. I wasd thinking maybe there was moisture in the fuel lines that would freeze when its cold outside and blocking the lines, not allowing ample fuel to reach the motor? is this possible? winter is approaching so i would like to fix this asap. thanks

Start with the simple and replace your fuel filter first if it has not been replaced within a year and inpect all your you vacuum lines. Your Jimmy being a 1996, there is a very good chance that some of your vacuum lines will be cracked and split and will need to be replaced. If you could also check what your fuel pressure is when doing a cold start would also determine if your fuel pump is getting weak, you should get 62-65 psi.
Start with these little things and keep us posted and it would not hurt to give your Jimmy http://www.seafoamsales.com/ treatment to clean out your engine.

thanks for the advice. i replaced the filter and tested the pump. it ws good, read 63 psi. i also found that the battery had two bad cells in it so i replaced that too. i dont know if the problem is fixed though, cause it hasnt been cold out since i made these changes

A worn TPS, clear the codes and check again for the same code before replacing it. The code may not be active and could be old issue in the past before you got the Jimmy.
