This is an old thread but I thought it was relating to synthetic oil in a vehicle with mileage. I will go on that assumption and indicate that with the first oil change i always go to Mobil 1 for my new vehicles. For whatever reason I feel the synthetic will do a better job in my engine and although I know it is not necessary as synthetic will go for more miles safely, I am in the habit of changing every 3000 miles and continue to do so with the synthetic. In the past I have kept my vehicles an average of 30,000 or about three years, the new 2017 Canyon Denali I hope to push a few more miles out of since i like it so well and hope it gives trouble free service for many years.. In the past my neighbors gobble up my trade in's as they know the treatment the vehicle has had.
