Daytime running lights

I have a 99 Jimmy 4.3 . When I engage the turn flasher, the DRLs shut down. I've noticed other GM vehicles with the same problem. Does anyone know the area or component that could be causing this?

Its just a safety feature. They cut off when you engage the turn signal so the turn signal can be easily seen.
