Anyone have a problem with doors freezing shut over night? I know it happens now and then. Especially since they decided to save a few cents and not use roof drip molding anymore, but I digress.

Anyway it seems whenever it rains and freezes or even a wet snow, both doors freeze shut. As I said, it happens to everyone now and then no matter what the vehicle, but every time the weather dumps on it, they freeze up. Seals seem good. Anyone have a fix for it or is it something we have to live with? It does sit in the sun during the day.

I guess I was the only one with this problem. FWIW, added some roof drip molding. A couple of light snow falls, a freezing rain storm, and brutal cold... no problems. Actually I thought it would be pretty ugly, but turns out I kinda like it.

doors freezing solution

I use spray silicone lubricant. Hit once in the fall before the snow and freezing rain start, again in January or February if needed. Works like a charm. Don't spray it directly on the gasket, since you'll hit the door trim molding. Soak a wipe rag with the spray and wipe the rubber gasket down.
