I have the egr valve off. Going to put on a new gasket with a screen. It is a fairly new valve so while it is off I will be cleaning it with throttle body cleaner rather than get a new one. I would also like to clean as much of the carbon out of the ports. Can I spray throttle body cleaner into the ports where the valve attatches to? How about deep creep? Is that better? Thanks.

Deep creep better, it's stronger then throttle body cleaner and how is the Sonoma running now????:D

The seafoam treatment worked well. Truck runs better than it has in a long time. Still has a little sputtering at times when at stop lights. I removed the valve and it is amazing how much carbon builds up in a short time. I ordered a new screened gasket and am cleaning the valve. So I can spray deep creep into those ports on the engine? I figured since I have the valve off I might as well try to clean as much as I can.

Thanks for spending your time helping us on here.

No worries, after that just give it a good run on the highway and always use platinum spark plugs. Keep up the great work here is a tip that you may be interested in to help keep your Sonoma in the family for a long time. It's what we use on our fleet of tour buses and i have also used it on my Jimmy, and it seams to work.

http://www.rustbullet.com/about.asp with http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGBrand.asp?bid=10 paint and then actual Automotive paint for final layer.
