just had the altenator replaced on my 1991 gmc sierra because it was making noise. it ran great one day then it doesn't start the starter clicks, the power is on, the signal, lights etc. when I get a jump it starts then sputters and dies. my carb looks a luttle fried but I was was wondering if I got a bad altenator??

The only way to tell if you have a bad alternator is to have it checked. Easiest is when the engine is running and see what the output is. should be 14.5 volts. As far as the spuddering and dying goes, can be a number of things. You said your carb looks fried? What does that mean? Is it dirty? Get it cleaned up and see if that helps to keep the engine running first. Then you can check the output of the alternator. Good luck
