Engine light.

The engine light would come on from time to time and it turned out to be the gas cover. After messing with it a few times it finally went off (engine light) but then, just yesterday, the engine light started flashing. Only for a moment and then.it went away... should I be concerned!?!
With inflation the way it's going, I don't want to take the truck in if it's not necessary but the engine light coming on randomly and flashing, I can't risk getting stranded. Thoughts?

Any auto parts store should at least be able to read the stored code. Normally a solid check engine light indicates it can be driven, but should be addressed soon, a flashing check engine light normally indicates a severe condition that could result in damage with further operation.
