Got the 97 Jimmy which had a crank put in 2 yrs ago. Now its clanging like mad when I start it up. Actually after a minute or two, she purrs like a kitten -as if nothing is wrong at all. Either way. I dont want to pull the engine out to fix it... then put it back in and make it another year or so.
SO... CAN ANYONE TELL ME:
1) What different years of the 4.3 Vortec engine will fit into a '97 Jimmy?
2) Anyone got tips on buying a used engine -thats already out of the vehicle?
-----Kinda seems its a higher risk NOT knowing if the thing runs "right" or not -hey?
