ok so i fixed my hard start problems (Fuel Pressure Regulator) and now when i start up my truck it wants to stall and the RPM fluctuate between 1000 and 500. but when i un-plug the MAF sensor it idles like normal. Do i need a new MAF or to clean it out some how?

Start with cleaning it with MAF sensor claner that you can buy at most auot store. Just follow the instructions on the back of the can. Also what is the temprature reading to your engine??

The PCM is programed to run the engine at it's best performance at 180-195", anything colder and the PCM will run on a open loop. If you think your engine is running cold, replace the thermostat with the OEM 195" thermostat and don't forget to clean your MAF sensor. ;)

Keep us posted. :D http://www.crc-canada.ca/Files/CA/sensorkleen poster.pdf

hey molson what store can i get that stuff from? Canadian tire, parts source or napa? also i just started the car today(cold) and it was doing that fluctuation then i un plugged the MAF sensor and it idled fine right away.

hey molson where can i get that stuff. i check partsource and canadian tire and they both didnt have them. What stores in the Toronto area do you think i can get the stuff.

The temp reading is around the middle mark or like a little bit under. i havent really driven the truck because im trying to fix things up so it can pass safety and emmissions.

You can use, Motomaster: Electrical contact cleaner. (http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...s/PRDOVR~0279293P/PJ1%2BContact%2BCleaner.jsp) I think you should be able to find that at most canadian tire in the Automotive department. But give NAPA a call and see if they have a MAF snesor cleaner and don't be affraide to sue the whole can if you think you have to and also buy to cans of http://www.seafoamsales.com/. I know you can buy that at Parts Source.

Here is a post on how to using it, and shuold help clean out your engine in your Jimmy. ;)

And where are these under hood fuses? haha im coming from the import scene and all this is new to me. and also where is this servo switch im supposed to check? i looked under the battery and i dont see anything or maybe im just missing it.

You have a 97, i don't thing there are any under the hood fuses in your year of jimmy yet like my 96. To check the actuator under the battery try, your going to have to remove the passenger side head light so you can inspect the Actuator through the hole where the head like is.

Your going to need a helping hand for someone to hit the 4wd switch so you can see the actuator move. If the actuator does not move, inspect the ruber diaphram for any damages and pull the vacuum line to make sure tehre is vacuum on it when it's in 4wd. If there is no vacuum in the line, you going to have to trace it back to the 4wd vacuum switch on top of the transfer case on the driver's side.

But in most case, the vacuum lines on the divers side of the engine to the vacuum canister located on the driver's fender by the brake boost will be damaged and cracked. Any vacuum lines with damages, just replace the lines since there cheap enogh.

Good luck and keep me posted and yes all you need to do is spray the contact cleaner to the MAF sensor and wait for it to air dry. P.S you do know you can remove the MAF screen to give you better throttle response.

I did it to my Jimmy and my son's Blazer and also member barks507 has done a few mods he asked me what he could do and so far he's having fun as a stop sign worrier LOL
