Front Left Impact Sensor

I have a 2008 Sierra CrewCab 5.3ltr 4wd and the fornt left impact sensor is gone. How hard are they to change and the best place to buy one?

Whats a left front impact sensor? Is it located in this diagram?

My service air bag light came on and the dealer told me that it would be close to $1000 to fix. I figure i would see if I can fix it myself and buy the part myself. Any other suggestions would be great.

Should be No. 7 in the diagram. Note - No.2 is the air bag and if not serviced properly you could set off the air bag just by disconnecting the wrong thing and cost a lot of damage not to mention possible severe injury or death if anywere close to the air bag going off. SO APPROACH THIS PROJECT WITH CAUTION, SERIOUS INJURY IS POSSIBLE if not serviced properly.

listen you can install it your self. It's easy just remove battery cable for 10 min before you do it.
Air bags won't just go off. For the record i don't even disconect the battery to remove air bags or sensors. If you under stand how they work and what it takes to blow a bag these days.
