Hello all,

I'm a new member and I've been lurking for a while, but I can't seem to find any answers for a couple questions I have.

1. My gas gauge all of the sudden has little "spasms" and doesn't go any lower than 1/2 tank now. The fuel pump is less than 2 years old and I don't have any issues with the actual flow of fuel. When my Jimmy is in park the gauge will jump from full to 1/2, then to 3/4, then to 1/2 and back to full. If i put it in neutral the gauge will dip below 1/2 then back up again. I'm not sure where to start looking, any advise would be great!

2. I have leveled/lifter my Jimmy with a shackle and torsion bar kit. Not at all happy with the ride quality. When I did the kit I replaced everything in the front driveline. When I'm on the highway I have horrible death wobbles. I've had the tires balanced several times and I've had multiple alignments. It is getting to be very annoying and I'm think returning to stock height. Is there anything anyone can tell me to improve this, or would returning to stock be my fix.

3. Finally, IF I return to stock what is the biggest, most all-terain tire I can put on without issues. I'm currently sitting on General Grabbers AT2 that are 31x10.50R15 and I'm sure they will no longer fit. I don't want to return all the way back to a 235/70R15 because they seemed to be so puny.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

My '98 Jimmy does the same thing with gas gauge. I've read that the wiring harness for pump can get corroded from road grime causing shorts. ??

my gauge has " spasms " in sequence with the turn signals...
when it blinks on the gauge jumps up a little , when it blinks off it drops back down.
just started a week ago , haven't had a chance to look at it.

anytime ive seen my friends fuel gauge act up like this, a fuel pump failure is about 9mos - 1 yr away. maybe sooner.
mine actually started to do the dance of death recently but its coupled with the poor starting fuel pressure associated with a shit pump.

even if the pump is fine, the sensor is with the pump in the fuel tank. replace the pump and the gauge should work again. ive done this on a friends blazer and im about to put a delphi on my own jimmy.

food for thought. good luck
