I'm told a gas leak over gas tank . 4 door , 4 wheel drive ..6 cyl .
Is there a simple way 4 me to get to this problem area ? I have no indications of a leak showing on the ground in the snow . How should i check for the leak ? Is it maybe a seeping type leak ?
Is there maybe a pic of this , .. i can only find 98 and 2000 ..not a 99 .

In most case, the leak will not be over the gas tank. The leak is going to be on your return line along the frame rails just before the back wheels. The leak is common to happen when the body clips are holds the fuel line in place.

Find the leak and replace the section that's corrodes and leaking with a new line. If you are going to use a rubber fuel line, make sure that you use one that is rated for a fuel injected system and compression clamps for the higher fuel presser used on your jimmy.

Good lick and keep us posted. be safe.

Most likely a bad tank, is there any check engine light on???

If you have a ramp, back the jimmy up on the ramp so you can have some space to get under your jimmy. The lines travel from the frame rails just before the rear axle on the drivers side.

You should be able to see the lines go to the top of the gas tank. The lines will connect to a Nylon line fuel line to the top of the top of the gas tank. If there is going to be any leaks, it will be on the metal line connected to the Nylon Line and tis a quick connect type hook up.

You can buy a metal repair line with the quick connect your need, just take note that there are tow sizes, the larger one is the low side and the smaller diameter is the high side.

Be safe and keep us posted.
