Gas mileage

I have 1,300 miles on my AWD Acadia. It is supposed to get something like 16 city/23 highway. I know it's not broken in yet and it doesn't do too terribly on the highway but locally I literally watch the fuel gauge drop before my eyes! I am curious what other owners have experienced .

My 2011 Acadia has 5k miles. Local driving mileage is not good. Highway
mileage is good if you keep the car @ 65mph.

Have a 2012 Acadia Denali, 300 miles on it, got 25 mpg on a 140 mile trip and 14.5 mpg in the city
