I'm running a 1990 4X4 1500 burb. For a lift, I put a 3 inch block on the rear and a set of springs from a diesel burb on the front. It makes for a nice level lift which accomodates my 35" Toyo's. The PO told me the diff ratio is 3.42. I haven't actually pulled the cover and counted to be sure, but either way, 3.42 or 3.73, the tranny isn't liking the job of turning the big tires. The question is what is the best gear combo for this set up? 4.56 is where I am leaning, however I only want to do this once. I would like to pull a trailer with my extreme trail rig, trailer and rig together weighing about 5000lbs, but not real often and not very far. Main use is hauling 6-8 adults back and forth to work. Opinions, experience, advice?
