I have a 1997 GMC SLE Sierra 4 wheel dr 1500
Have installed a new engine including new injector and spider new heat sensors, radiator, and fuel pump.
The engine runs perfectly, it pulls a trailer with no effort, no skips, no misses,.
The problem I’m having is when I run it, and then return and shut it off, it won’t start back up until it sits for 5-10 minutes. Any ideas why this would happen?
Any advice or help would be so wonderful.

what type of gas does your area have? (gas with ethanol or methanol, e85)
it sounds like vapor lock, but you have a new furl pump, is it an in tank pump?

Fuel injected vehicles don't vapor lock. It does sound like you are having a hot soak issue, but more than likely one of your sensors is getting hotter than it should and preventing it from starting.

Does it crank? Have you tried starting it ether? That will tell you whether you are dealing with fuel or ignition.
