GMC Envoy 2006

I have a 2006 Envoy and it keeps burning out the sockets of the headlamps of the daytime running lamps. Dealers have no answers. Having to keep replacing the sockets. Have gone down to the lowest wattage bulbs available.

I have a 2006 Envoy and it keeps burning out the sockets of the headlamps of the daytime running lamps. Dealers have no answers. Having to keep replacing the sockets. Have gone down to the lowest wattage bulbs available.

Make sure the socket has a good ground. A bad ground will cause the wires to run hot and burn out the socket and light bulb.

Can I just take the Neg wire of the bulb and Y it to grd or chassis?

You can do that or just make sure where the negative lead wire is grounded good and not corroded.
