I own a 2003 GMC Sierra and I still have the chrome door molding at the bottom of my doors. My truck is that dark charcoal gray and the paint has been kept very clean because I wash and wax my truck about once every one or two weeks. I would like to remove the chrome door moldings but I am hesitant because I do not want to remove them and find that the paint has faded. What are the chances that my paint has faded; and would it be enough, if it had faded, to tell a difference in the two areas on my door? Also what is the best way to remove the door moldings? I have heard dental floss works well. Thanks! :)

Dental Floss (SUPER THUMBS UP!!!) You can kind of tell the sun damage difference if you pop your hood and compare the underside to the fenders or even door jambs. If it did fade then yeah it will stick out like a sore thumb. I would go for it and if it bothers you that bad then you have a good reason to get the bottom 1/4 of the truck rhino lined...big plus for resale, it looks good, it covers the stone chips that i'm sure you've got.
