GMC sierra Stereo system

Hello all,

I recently bought nice subs and an amp in my sierra 1500 ext cab and it sounds real good but the bass is way higher than the actual volume.

Do speakers make a huge difference in the sound quality and actual loudness of the system?

You are going to need an amp for the door speakers as well, or turn down your bass. The speakers don't have enough power to produce that kind of sound level that will compete with the subs, it will just distort. In my truck I have the 4 door speakers hooked up to a 1200 watt amp, but I just use the 600 watt channel for all 4 speakers. And my 10" subs are hooked up to a 500 watt amp. it all sounds really good.
