I have a gmc sonoma and everytime i hit a bump in the road the steering wheel jerks to the right and the whole truck goes to the right.... but when i put on the brake the wheel goes to the left to presume the normal position. Ive had over 5 mechanics look at this. Ive had : brake lines, calipers, break pads, over 5 front end alignments, done to my truck and replaced. I cant figure if its a control arm or soemthing else because when i do hit a bump i hear a "pop" noise and it then goes to the right.
My truck is a an.

GMC Sonoma 2004
4.3L vortec V6
And has a independent front end suspension.

I've seen this same problem on a Jimmy (same suspension). After much consternation I finally found a loose bushing at the upper control arm where the arm is normally loosened to allow for caster and or camber adjustments during an alignment. The alignment shop(s) you've been to may have missed it by virtue of not finding a need to change the caster or camber on your truck when the alignment was measured. I don't know if this is the case with your truck but it is definitely worth investigating because if it is, it will probably get ever more loose with time eventually becoming hazardous.
Good luck.
