Got a 1999 GMC Suburban with a 5.7L Vortec, 4x4. Front windshield wipers...

...sometimes make a electronic sound.? It doesnt always happen, but occasionally, I cant get the wipers to work, it doesnt matter what wiper mode I select, ie: windshield wash, mist, or the normal delay, or low or high speed, it still gives a high pitched tone, that sounds nothing like an electric motor. But rather like a circuit board, such as a failing transistor? Then if I wait about a minute of not trying to get the wipers to move, and I try them again, all modes of wiper activity work. Any ideas? I dont think its the switches. Thanks
 
need wiper delay module

My 98 suburban did the same thing.About a 30 to 40 dollar fix. The module is on the firewall uder the hood. Takes less than twenty minutes to fix with simple tools. you'll need some black rtv to seal the box up.
