Heat switch not working

Hey guys,

I have a lot of problems with my 2000 Jimmy,
Heat is only coming from my dash. When I select defrost or anything other then dash nothing happens. The heat just continues to pour out of the dash only.

I have fluid in my vacuum lines & have a post asking for instructions for accessing the canister. I also have a post about poor acceleration.

I have replaced the TC switch but this has not helped to fix any of these problems. I also replaced the HVAC panel on the dash. I have no clue how to test for a vacuum leak with out a tester & I do not have access to one.

I'm desperate to get this fixed & I am running out of time also.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a link to your HVAC vacuum system http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u...delid=6872&capuid=1&majorgroup=08&grouptype=B inspect all your vacuum lines and if you find any that is damaged by the heat and fluid in the system. Just replace it, you can get the replacement vacuum lines at Auto Zone and other parts to connect them.

The place where your getting fluid in to you system is from your 4wd vacuum switch on top of the transfer-case. Here is a link to your transfer-case and #46 is the part that needs to be replaced http://www.compnine.com/index.php?u...delid=6872&capuid=1&majorgroup=04&grouptype=B. You can get the part at Auto Zone or Napa for much less then the gm parts department. Your going to need a open end wrench to get the old one off, it's a tight but can be done with flipping the wrench back and forth. Just undo the vacuum line harness and remove the switch, you'll notice that the lines will have oil in them. Give it time and the oil should work it's way out of the system.
