Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.
My name is Ian, I am 16 years old and live in Thousand Oaks CA. I recently stumbled on a VERY clean and well maintained 1988 GMC suburban 2500. I bought it from the original owner. He got a newer 'burb and didn't need this one anymore. It has 162K, brand new Rancho shocks and steering stabilizer, ball joints, complete brake job, 10 ply BFG all terrains, full fluid and gasket change, done 690 miles ago. The guy used the truck to tow his boat from his house in TO to Big Bear and maintained it very well. It has the full towing package, 3/4 ton, 4x4, 8600 GVWR, 40 gallon tank, stage 3 comfort package, working AC and heat, good interior, fresh and high quality paint. Everything works in and on the truck. It has a TBI 350 with a TH400? 3spd automatic (might be a TH350, would like verification!) I have done the following to the truck- replaced the drivers side headlight bucket with a spare I had, figured out why my dome/horn fuse kept blowing (turned out to be a shorting cigarette lighter that I replaced), removed the 3rd row seat, washed and waxed the truck, vacuumed and shampooed the interior and armor-alled everything that wasn't metal or carpet. As of now, the truck needs the following- headliner repair as it sags (I've heard foam spray adhesive works) and the rear AC fan makes a horrible noise. Also, the carpet will need to be replaced, I couldn't get a lot of the stains out. The upholstery is pretty bad too, but it has seat covers. Aside from that, everything is near mint. The truck was smogged on friday and passed no problem. Clean title and everything. Now guess what I paid? $1350! Quite a steal if I do say so myself. The PO spent more than 2x that 690 miles ago... There's also no rust anywhere! The truck was garaged until about a month ago, when it was replaced. Here's a couple pics! I'll get many better ones when the sun comes out!
Thanks for reading everyone! If you have any suggestions, tips or questions please post or PM me!
