Ok, I have 2006 Sierra 4x4 with a 5.3 and need to increase performance, i.e. horsepower, MPG, etc. I know there are people that have added parts like cold air intakes, performance chips exhaust systems and so on....What works best? OEM or aftermarket parts, do performance chips work like the ads say? I'm trying to piece meal a complete set up because I can't throw a lot of money at once. A performance chip sounds like a good "bang for the buck" but heard they can cause engine damage.
