I have a 2003 GMC Sonoma. It sat for a year recently started driving it and the head gasket blew. Got it fixed and now it will not pass smog. The service engine soon light came on with a code of P0442 they reset it and we replaced the gas cap as they suggested and drove it over 100mi and they still come up as not ready. Appreciate any ideas to what the problem may be??

Catalyst...Not Ready
Evaporative System...Not Ready
Oxygen Sensor Heater...Not Ready

I would go to a parts store and get it re-scanned .
I would also pop the hood and start looking for
dis-connected hoses / electrical wires.

If your check engine light did not come back on then do nothing! Drive it ! sometimes it takes 100 to 200 miles to set the monitors in the pcm. I deal with this everyday. Now to help the monitors to set keep the gas tank between 3/4 and 1/4. It will not run a test if it is full or empty. Also on a cold start drive on a highway or main road holding the throttle steady.
