help with a 1991 gmc sonoma with the lights!!!!?

ok i just went out and bought a 1991 gmc sonoma well the truck runs really good besides for the lights... when you press on the brake the left one will be bright and the other one dim then you let off the brake then you press the brake agin the right one will be bright and the left one will be dim. and the turn signals will not work on the truck. so could some one help me out with this dose it need new wireing or a pinched wire or something?? or will i just need all brand new wiring for the lights. and any estamete that it will cost to get that done by any chance? thank you for helping out...
 
Remove the bulbs and look at them to see if any of the elements are burned or broken, if so replace as needed.
Clean the contacts (plug in and remove them a couple of times)

You probably have at least one burned element and dirty contacts creating a bad ground.
 
change the bulbs and sockets. it sounds like the bulbs might be getting a bad ground.
