How come my 1999 GMC Jimmy won't GO when I step on the gas?

My '99 Jimmy has been great (61K miles) for me so far; but now we are having issues... It will hesitate for a second after I step on the gas before it actually goes. This usually happens first thing in the morning and very rarely at other times. I'm worried that it wont have the get up and go that I need it to have sometime (like when I am accelerating to get on the highway). What's up with my Jimmy? THANKS

clean your map sensor, i had the same problem

as i said above and apparently barks agrees with me that is the issue. i used alcohol and a q-tip, i know the directiions says not to use q-tips but if you are maticulous enough and careful enough like myself it will work fine. alcohol has the same properties as a break or maf sensor cleaner where-as it does not leave a residue on the wires. it almost dries instantly.
