You have a drain plug and a fill plug on the side of the transmission. The top plug is the fill plug and when removed, transmission should trickle out. Make sure the S10 is leveled for proper reading and to replace the oil, remove the drain plug at the bottom and refill with the top plug. Good luck and hope this helps.
